Note: Kerala Style Pazham Pori is a very popular dish of Kerala and made of ripe bananas. You will find it is a very common preparation at most houses at a malayalee household during tea time. The ripe banana is slit lengthwise, covered in batter and fried in oil. Do I need to tell you anything more to let you know how tasty it would be? It is also known as ethakkappam or banana fritters. Here is how you make thus yummy evening snack.
First of all mix the maida, rice flour, sugar, salt, turmeric powder and water to make a thick batter. Remember, it should be of pouring consistency. Now, cut the banana lengthwise into half or three parts as per the size of the banana. Make sure the bananas are ripe and make it into thin slices after cutting it lengthwise.
Now, dip these banana slices into the already prepared batter and deep fry it in oil. Keep the gas on medium flame, till the batter covered bananas turn golden in colour. Now the kerala style pazham pori is now ready to eat.
P.S: Instead of maida you can use wheat flour as well and you can also replace sugar with jaggery if you want to. You can also add soda bicarb to the batter if you want, but this is completely optional. I have already said use really ripe banana for best taste.
